Licensed Professional Counselor AssociateLexington, Kentucky
In brief
Anthony “Mindset” Moody is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, speaker, educator, minister, author, consultant, and community advocate based in Lexington, Kentucky. After more than a decade in accounting, he transitioned into mental health counseling to pursue work aligned with his purpose: helping people heal, grow, and better understand themselves.
His work centers on trauma, emotional intelligence, relationships, identity, personal growth, and reducing mental health stigma in the Black community while serving people from all backgrounds. Beyond counseling, Anthony uses speaking, ministry, content, youth programming, and Hoop Therapy to create honest, practical conversations that move people toward healing and action.
The story
“My path in life took a while to figure out.”
Kentucky State University
Anthony started college as an accounting major on a full-ride scholarship. His true calling was still unknown.
The accounting years
After graduating, he climbed the ranks quickly and became a senior-level accountant. The stress and lack of purpose led to panic attacks and self-doubt.
2016
Working two jobs and out of alignment with his passion, he decided it was time to get help and talk to someone. His own mental health journey started there.
2019
He left his accounting career, unsure of his next steps but determined to find work that truly fulfilled him.
University of Kentucky
A mentor encouraged him to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Along the way he wrote The Mindful Moody Mentality, the system he built so he would never go back to the person he used to be.
Today
He counsels, speaks, preaches, and writes, using his own experiences to help guide others, with a particular focus on helping young Black men navigate life’s challenges.
We are all put here on this earth for a specific reason, and you don’t find it, you discover it because it’s already inside you.

How it connects
Therapy, ministry, speaking, and community work aren’t separate lanes for Anthony. It’s one perspective, and it’s the one he teaches from.
More than a decade in accounting shaped how he thinks. Look honestly at what is there, and trace it back to the root.
A minister and a Man of the Most High. Faith is the foundation he builds on, and he teaches it with conviction.
A counselor trained in approaches like CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapy. He listens, challenges, and guides.
Approach
“My approach is compassionate, honest, and direct.”
My goal is to help you feel understood, challenged, supported, and equipped to create lasting change.
